Biography Justin grew up in San Antonio, Texas, playing baseball and football and spending his spare time performing with a local musical theatre company in malls, airplane hangars, amphitheaters, cafeterias, and country fairs across the state of Texas. While attending high school at Texas Military Institute, Justin made his acting debut, riding in on a white horse and singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" as Curly in Oklahoma. He graduated from TMI with honors and as a decorated Company Commander. For college, Justin left the Hill Country of Texas for New York University's Tisch School or the Arts, where he studied at CAP21, the world-renowned musical theater studio, and NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing. He earned his BFA in Drama at NYU and was a four-year Trustees Scholar for Exceptional Performance. Highlights of his NYU experience include playing Tommy in The Who's Tommy, a summer at the New London Barn playhouse, and playing Polynices in the world premiere of Peter Meineck's adaptation of Oedipus @ Colonus. Justin continued his education in the theatre at the Brown University/Trinity Rep Consortium, under the artistic direction of Oskar Eustis, where he earned his Masters in Fine Arts. While at Brown, he appeared in five different main stage plays at the Trinity Repertory Company and got to work with many amazing talents as a company member of the Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep. Upon graduation from Brown, Justin loaded up his moving van and headed back to New York City. He parked his belongings on 42nd Street and booked his first audition back in the city: Journey's End. Justin would go on to make his Broadway debut in the critically-acclaimed and award-winning ensemble cast of Journey's End as 2nd Lt. Hibbert. Journey's End captured the American Theatre Wing's Tony Award along with every other award that year for "Best Revival of a Play." Between then and now, Justin has been fortunate to have many exciting opportunities in theatre, film and television. One of his favorite experiences was starring alongside Antonio Banderas in the pre-Broadway workshop of Zorba in March of 2010. The workshop was directed by David Leveaux , produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, and also starred Chita Rivera, Deanna Dunagan and Alexandra Silber. Zorba is slated to go into production in September of 2011. In one of his favorite television experiences, Justin made his "Law & Order: SVU" debut as the dapper Agent Mayhem; the highlights being his (attempted) seduction of Mariska Hargitay and interrogation by Christopher Meloni. Justin recently completed a successful run as the title role Hamlet, Prince of Denmark with New York Classical Theatre. Hamlet was one of his dream roles and he played to packed audiences in New York's World Fianacial Center. You can read about the play and his performance here. In addition to Shakespeare, Justin also has a passion for working on new plays. Most notably, he has had the opportunity to take part in processes with Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel and Tony Award-winner Mary Zimmerman. A Civil War Christmas, by Ms. Vogel, debuted at the Long Wharf Theatre and was directed by Tina Landau. He was also part of the world premier of Argonautika, adapted from the tale of Jason and the Argonauts, with which he toured to Berkeley Rep, the Shakespeare Theatre of Washington D.C. and the McCarter Theatre. Justin recently performed in the award-winning ensemble of Stan Richardson's VERITAS, recipient of the Overall Excellence Award for Best Ensemble, at the 2010 New York Fringe Festival. The play tells the true story of a group of young men at Harvard Univerisity in 1920 who were the subject of a university-led witch hunt. In a first for the Fringe Festival, the entire run of a production was completely sold out prior to the start of the Festival and over a week before the first performances for the show.
